NEW Cunard extends pause of operations through July 31, 2020 and cancels Queen Elizabeth Alaska season through September 8, 2020 (issued 4/23)

Since we announced our pause in Cunard’s operations, the Covid-19 situation has evolved further still. The World Health Organization declared this outbreak a pandemic and many governments around the world have implemented increasingly strict and decisive measures to ensure the safety of their citizens. Expanding travel restrictions, extended closures of ports and limited air travel has continued to impact Cunard and the travel industry as a whole. We anticipate that this will continue, for some time to come. 

 

Therefore, we have no choice but to extend our pause in operations. For Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria we are cancelling all sailings that were due to depart up to and including July 31, 2020. For Queen Elizabeth, maintaining a shorter summer season in Alaska would unfortunately not make these voyages viable, so we are taking the practical decision to cancel her entire Alaska season and all departures up to and including the September 8, 2020.

 

There is no requirement for you to take any action for your customer’s bookings in relation to this extended pause in operations as Cunard will automatically issue the FCC.  Should guests prefer a cash refund then they should go to the website to fill out the form. Final payment and cancelation fee policy on cruises sailing through September 30, 2020 (issued 3/24). Enjoy greater flexibility! We have now updated the Cunard Final Payment due date, reducing it from 120 days to 60 days prior to sailing. This change applies to new and existing bookings on cruises booked in North America.

 

This new policy is applicable to all voyages that are between 120 and 200 days out, or up to end of September 2020. 

  1. Cancellation Fee schedule will be as follows: 
  • 59 to 31 Days to sail      50% of net fare (from 031 to 060  50%, only 1 day difference)
  • 30 to 15 Days to sail      75% of net fare  (no change in current policy)
  • 14 to 00 Days to sail      100% of net fare (no change in current policy)
